If you find that your TV is too close to the wall and your soundbar is too large, there are a few things that can be done. You could raise your TV above the soundbar to allow more space for the soundbar below it.
This way, not only will it reduce nesting (when wires touch each other and make noise), but it will also make the whole setup look better. There are a couple of ways this can be accomplished.
To raise your TV above your soundbar, you can place the soundbar on a center console and mount the TV above it using an AV mount and brackets. If you do not have the budget for you, can you can also use blocks to raise the TV above the sopundbar.
1. Using AV Mounts, Anchors and Brackets
1). Purchasing an AV mount
This is easily the most convenient way out of the three. If you use a good brand, these mounts are both very easy to install and very sturdy once they are attached.
They can be adjusted so that your TV is closer to the wall than normal so it will allow room for your soundbar below it. It is not recommended to mount directly on drywall unless you have some seriously high-grade screws.
These mounts will provide plenty of support no matter what you attach them with. Because there is just one point of contact on the back of your TV, you’ll need to be careful not to apply too much pressure or it might crack.
The main advantage of using a TV mount is that you will prevent certain measurement issues like placing the TV mount studs too far apart by mistake.
2). Purchasing drywall screws and anchors
This is a more permanent way of attaching your TV to the wall and can give you some peace of mind that it isn’t going anywhere. It does, however, require drilling into your TV.
You will also need to purchase anchors that fit the screws. The nice thing about this method is that it is very sturdy and there’s no need to worry about the weight of your TV.
The downside is that it takes a little more time to set up and you might have trouble finding anchors that fit the screws if they’re not standard sizes. You can try using washers instead of when the holes don’t line up.
3). Purchasing drywall “L” brackets
This is a more permanent option for wall mounting your TV and will be able to withstand quite a bit of weight.
The main drawback is that it requires drilling into your TV. You may, however, prefer this method because the TV can easily be tilted downwards (or upwards if you use two brackets).
2. Using Blocks to Raise TV
There are a few different things you can do to raise your television off the ground. One option is to use blocks or risers.
Blocks can be made from a variety of materials, such as wood, plastic, or metal. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, so you can find the perfect set for your needs.
Finally, you need to get a good under monitor soundbar which is the same as a under-TV soundbar that is small enough to fit within your space.
Steps on How to Raise TV Using Blocks
Step 1: Ensure the surface is flat
Ensure that the surface where you are placing your television is flat. If it isn’t, place a shim under one of the corners to level it out.
Step 2: Place four blocks below the center of the TV Stand
Place four blocks underneath the center of the TV stand at equal distances apart from each other and pointing directly upward.
The size of your blocks should be determined by what you’ll need for stability. This should vary depending on how heavy your TV stand is and what type of flooring you’re working with.
Step 3: Stack additional blocks below each corner of the TV stand
Stack additional blocks up underneath each corner of the TV stand until only a small amount (approximately 1″) is left exposed at each corner. You can use as much or as little block support as you need for stability.
Just make sure that whatever you choose, it’s sturdy enough to keep from pushing down on anyone’s side. Placing too many blocks beneath a heavy TV stand could end up causing damage to the bottom of it if there isn’t an evenly distributed weight from all four corners.
Step 4: Rest TV stand on top of blocks
Rest your tv on the bottom of the four corner block stacks you just created. You can now relax knowing that nothing will topple or shift at all. Of course, you should probably still be pretty close to it so that you can grab any remote controls.
How To Raise A TV Stand
There are a few simple steps that you can take to raise your TV stand. This will help ensure that the screen is at the correct height for optimal viewing.
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Measure the height of your TV stand. This can be done by looking at the specifications of your TV or measuring it from the bottom of the stand to the top of the screen.
2. Multiply this measurement by 1.5. This will give you the height that you should aim for when raising your TV stand.
3. Purchase some wood or metal risers that are this height or taller.
4. Place your TV on top of the risers and secure them in place with screws or bolts.
5. Enjoy your new, raised TV stand
